What Is Açaí, Really? The Honest Nutritional Profile

Purple is not a marketing choice. The color of açaí is the color of anthocyanins, the same family of compounds that gives blueberries their hue. Here is what is actually inside that pulp — numbers first, hype last.

The short version: the numbers

Per 100 g of pure frozen açaí pulp, published analyses typically show around 90–110 kcal, roughly 5 g of fat (mostly unsaturated), 1–2 g of fiber, and trace amounts of protein, iron, calcium and vitamin A precursors. That is a low-calorie, high-color base — the toppings are what decide how a bowl lands.

  • Deep purple color = anthocyanins, antioxidant compounds studied for heart and brain health
  • Mostly unsaturated fats, including oleic acid — the good kind found in olive oil
  • Meaningful levels of fiber, potassium and iron
  • Naturally gluten-free — the purity is in the pulp; check toppings if gluten is a concern for you

Values vary by harvest, processing and whether the pulp is 100% fruit. What you will never find in ours: concentrate, reconstituted powder or dye. Frozen 100% açaí pulp from Pará, Brazil, blended fresh when you order.

Why the base matters more than you think

Açaí became a global phenomenon because it blends thick and creamy without ice cream — the fruit does the texture work. That is why the difference between real açaí and a purple smoothie is instant: real açaí holds its shape, carries fruit cleanly and finishes clean. Our two bases give you the choice: 100% organic pulp, or the classic Brazilian pairing with guaraná syrup for extra kick.

The toppings are your choice. The base is our promise: 100% açaí, nothing pretending to be something else.
